anyone ever have Amazon 1-click charge wrong price?

I ask the question because for the first time ever today, I had it happen.

I was shopping for (of all things) a sonic toothbrush. After reading lots of reviews (on Amazon's site as well as other websites) I picked out a model that had good reviews and was in the price range I was looking for. Amazon had it listed from two different sellers, one for $64.99 and then one for $49.99. So I bought it for the $49.99 price via one-click.

I come back a few hours later and I have the purchase receipt in my e-mail...for $65.50! I immediately go to the Amazon webpage, and see that the price listed there is now $65.50, not the $49.99 that it was listed at earlier in the day when I bought it.

I immediately sent an e-mail to the seller asking them to adjust my bill and only charge $49.99. Haven't heard back from them yet so we'll see.

Anyone else ever have this experience? If nothing else, it has taught me to always take screenshots of the page before hitting that 1-click button.

Was it a Oral B Model S-200?

Yep Adder, it was.

And just to follow up, I got a response to my e-mail within a few hours of sending it. I was told that they had "changed the price on that item several times today" and that my credit card would be refunded the difference. So assuming that happens, all is good. (I just checked my CC online a few minutes ago and even the initial charge has not yet posted to the account, so I'll have to wait a few days to check on everything.)

That was a gold box item.

The 3rd party prices on a product-page often changes a few times on a day when an item goes on sale from the gold box as vendors first try to compete with the sale price and then raise prices again when Amazon has sold out of it.

Ahh interesting...never even considered that was the dynamic operating. Good to know!

Hasn't happened to me.

I wonder if this would happen with their new payphrase? Is that essentially the same thing?
